How God and Satan Works

Section 06 - The Importance of Teamwork

Genesis 11:6 and 7 is a verse we have looked at before. It says,

And the LORD [Yahweh] said, There is only one nation all speaking the same language, and once they begin to do this, nothing that they have imagined to do will be impossible for them.
Let us go down and mix up their language so that they cannot understand one another's speech.

Then Matthew 8:19 says,

Again I say to you, That if two of you will be in full agreement on earth concerning any circumstance that they should request for themselves, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.

We Need to Work Together

In this last section, I want to share about the importance of teamwork. Nobody living in this world is an island. We are created to work together, not all alone.

We see this right back in the Garden of Eden when God created Eve. In Genesis 2:18 it says,

And the LORD [Yahweh] said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone: I will make a helper suitable for him.

So Eve was made to be a helper for Adam.

God, Himself does not work alone, but He actually has His own team. We know them as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit or the Trinity. We can see that in the Trinity these three all work together as one.

There is no place in this world or in God's Kingdom for loners. If you have the tendency to be a loner, you may not like what I am going to share here, but you need to hear it. There is no place in this world or in God's Kingdom for people who think they can do something all by themselves.

How God Works

To succeed in anything at all, you are going to need help from someone else. Let's look first at how God works. As I said, God is a Trinity and there are three working together as one.

We have the Father, and His role is to initiate and originate things. He is the one that starts it off.

Then we have the Son. And the role of the Son is to implement the things that the Father has originated or initiated.

And then the Holy Spirit is the enabler. He enables those things to take place and come to pass.

The three work together. One cannot function without the others. They are all needed, and each one has a very distinct role to play.

The Role of Angels

God also created the angels. We see that there are various categories of angels.

There are many different angels mentioned in Scripture. There are a lot of terms like seraphim, cherubim, and various different terms that are used for angels at times.

However, effectively there are only three main categories or groups of angels. I will explain to you shortly why I believe that these are the three main categories.

The first group is the Worship Angels. They create an atmosphere for God to work. God always works in the presence of singing, music, and praise, and the Worship Angels sing non-stop. They don't even take a breath.

They create an environment and an atmosphere. They bring heaven to earth when they come down and bring that influence to us. But in God's presence, they worship round the clock.

The second group is the Messenger Angels. I use the term Messenger Angels because they have a lot of functions. But their main function usually, particularly on this earth, is to communicate to mankind a message from God.

They are far more than message bringers. Once they bring a message, very often they will actually go out and execute or take part in making something happen in accordance with God's Word.

So they are far more than just messengers. They are in fact actively involved in arranging things in this world.

Then the third group is the Warrior Angels. Their main role is to deal with demon forces, oppose them and get into warfare to do battle on our behalf.

The Scripture tells us that when Satan fell from heaven, he took a third of the angels with him. The reason for that is that Satan was the leader of the Worship Angels.

He was the archangel in charge of worship. And when he fell he took all of his angels with him, and that made up a third of the angels of heaven. They were cast out of heaven, and God replaced them with a new set of Worship Angels.

I don't know who the Archangel now in charge of the Worship Angels is because the Scripture doesn't tell us. The Messenger Angels have an Archangel by the name of Gabriel who is very often involved in bringing very important messages from the Lord.

Then the third group, the Warrior Angels have an Archangel by the name of Michael. The Scripture gives us these names.

A lot of people out there have been reading books that are totally apocryphal. They give all sorts of names to angels and archangels and get into the whole New Age thing.

Be very careful. Do not step outside of the Scriptures and start naming angels. These are the names that the Scripture gives us, and I don't believe we need to know any more than that.

So God works in heaven in His Trinity, as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And He also makes use of the angels to carry out His work.

Working With Man

Then God uses His highest creation of all, mankind. God created us as human beings to work in partnership with Him.

He does it firstly in this world, and since Calvary, He has actually taken it even higher. This is because we now even have authority in the heavenly realm, and God has even given us authority over the angels.

We work in partnership with God, and we authorize Him to move on the earth. God is sovereign and He created us and this world. So therefore strictly speaking He should be able to do what He pleases. But God has chosen to limit His work in this world to only what human beings will permit.

God placed the authority on Adam and Eve. He said,

"You're in charge. From now on whatever happens in this world is in your hands."

Authorizing God to Move in the Earth

So it is up to us to authorize and invite God to move on the earth. And our major role in doing that is an activity that we call prayer.

Unfortunately, most of us think that prayer is us nagging God and asking Him to give us what we want. In reality, however, prayer is an activity by which we authorize God to work on this earth.

I have a very detailed study on prayer which we are releasing and there will be more added to it. The model prayer that was given to us by the Lord Jesus Himself was a very unique kind of prayer.

It was not the kind of prayer that we normally think of, where we come and beg and ask God for something. It was a prayer where we issue commands or imperatives. We will however look at that in more detail there.

So we work in partnership with God. And through prayer, God works in this world. It is up to us to release the Word of God into the earth.

The Scripture says in the Old Testament in Isaiah 55:11,

So will my [rhema] word be that proceeds out of my mouth: it will not return to me without having an effect, but it will bring about what I desire, and it will accomplish what I sent it to do.

But how does God send His word into the earth? Most of the time we are waiting for God to send His word. We say,

"Oh Lord please send your word."

So we nag, beg and plead and say,

"Please Lord, send your word."

Then we wait for God to do something. But what God actually does is He puts His word into our mouths, and it is up to us as human beings to send His word into the earth.

When we do that and send God's words, not our words, we can stand on the promise that those words will not return empty. They will however accomplish what they were sent to do.

Very often they are words of creation, just as God spoke and said, "Let there be…" God gave limited creative ability to us as humans, to speak His word into the earth and to create changes in the world round about us.

There are words of correction and words of repair. Things go wrong and they need to be fixed. The words that we speak have the power to change things in this world.

Imposing God's Authority

God does not impose His authority on the earth, because He has placed that authority on us as human beings. And it is up to us now to impose the authority of God on the earth.

This is especially true when it comes to demon powers. The Scripture says in Matthew 16:19 that what you shall bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven. It is up to us to use that authority.

We saw the different kinds of things that are given to us in the keys of the kingdom and the power that is given to us in the swords of the kingdom. We as human beings must use that authority to bring Satan into order on the earth.

We have to use the keys and the swords. And we have to use the natural, or what I called the latent powers of our spirit, soul, and body to make things happen on earth.

You just need to look at what mankind has done, just because they are human beings even apart from God. You just need to see the amazing inventions and creations that have taken place in the world.

These things are steadily accelerating, and I stand amazed when I look at some of the new technologies that are coming out.

These are all abilities that God has placed into our hands as human beings. He has given us these abilities, and if we use them we can do amazing things in this world.

Our ultimate role as believers, however, is to build God's Kingdom on earth. To do that we need to mobilize every believer in this world to work together as one before it can be accomplished.

How Satan Works

Satan has tried to copy God. He started out by setting up a copy of the Trinity, which I like to call the Infernal Trio. That consists of Lucifer, the Pharaoh or god of this world, and Apollyon who is the leader of Satan's forces. He is Satan's main general if you like.

What Lucifer does is influence the Religious System. He motivates false cults and even motivates heresies in the church. He also motivates self-effort and works.

There are people who are pushing themselves to work so hard to please God and to somehow get His blessing. It is a very subtle way of side-tracking us from what God really wants us to do.

God has placed the authority in our hands. But we keep trying to earn what was already given to us by His grace.

Pharaoh or the god of this world influences the financial and political system. He blocks believers from receiving finance, and he controls your promotion and your freedom in this world.

He provides distractions to believers by setting up a World System full of entertainment and pleasure. It will side-track us and prevent us from devoting all our attention to serving the Lord and to extending His Kingdom in this world.

Apollyon influences areas such as education, the medical industry, and psychology. He brings temptations and bad thoughts to us.

He controls the spirits of infirmity that attack our bodies to produce sickness and diseases. And he controls the minds of leaders, especially through the systems of psychiatry and psychology.

Lower Level Demons

Below these three higher-level princes of darkness, there are various levels of demon power. Paul gives us four categories of demons in Ephesians 6.

The very lowest level he calls principalities. Bear in mind that Satan is not a king. He is only a prince. So those who live in the realm of his operation are like ordinary peasants if you like. These are the principalities.

A principality is not a high-level demon, the way some people teach. Principalities are actually the lowest level and there are gazillions of them. They are all like privates in the army.

Then you get the first leadership level in Satan's realm which in Ephesians 6 is called powers or authorities. It is like the first level of leadership.

The second level of leadership is the rulers of the darkness of this world. These are the level of demons that actually enter and possess people, bringing with them a lot of the lower-level demons.

Then the highest level of demon power in Satan's realm is a prince of darkness. Satan himself, being a prince, has set up princes below him, and there are princes over every single part of this world. It has been mapped out in such a way that each section has been placed under a prince.

The whole World System is set up in such a way that Satan can control it. And these three high-level leaders or princes work through a system that is set up in this world.

Seven Mountain Teaching

Some time ago, two specific men of God sat down and identified seven different areas of activity in this world that tend to control everything that takes place here.

They gave it the term the Seven Mountains, and these are the things they identified.

1. Education

2. Religion

3. Family

4. Business

5. Government and Military

6. Arts and Entertainment

7. The Media

It has come very much in vogue amongst those who have adopted what is known as the Seven Mountain Mandate. The idea is that we as believers are to rise up, overcome and conquer these seven mountains.

Just like in days gone by, cities were set on a hill, and soldiers would go up and would capture the city. And so it has been frequently taught out there that we must capture and take control of these areas of the world.

As I looked in Scripture, I found some indication of this but not exactly the same. I personally am not an advocate of the Seven Mountain Mandate. I do not believe that we should be getting involved in trying to overcome the World System using the systems of this world.

We are to overcome the World System God's way. The Scripture says in 1 John 5:4,

This is the victory that overcomes the world; even our faith.

But under the three Infernal Trio, they spread their control down over the whole world. And for us to overcome, we don't overcome the regions that they are controlling. We overcome the demon powers that are controlling those regions.

Some people have got extreme on this and have gone around and tried to bind the prince of an area. The idea is that if they bind this prince, then suddenly people will start getting saved and God's revival power will come to a region.

But you know what? It doesn't take us specifically going and binding a prince at a time. How do you overcome darkness? You shine the light.

If we want to overcome this World System, we must shine the light of the radiance of God's glory.

The Importance of the Fivefold Ministry

God has given five very powerful ministries to accomplish such a task. They are mentioned in Ephesians 4:11 and are known as the Fivefold Ministry. There is the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher.

As I have studied the Old Testament I have looked for allegories or illustrations of spiritual truths. We have seen that many of the Old Testament characters typified members of the Fivefold Ministry, and we have seen types of apostles signified in the lives of Moses, Joshua, David, and Solomon.

But as I came to study Joshua as an apostle, I noticed there that he had a task to overcome five kings that came up against him.

As I looked at that, the Lord showed me that this was an allegory or a picture of five forces that tried to oppose God's Fivefold Ministry in this world.

Satan has given a counterfeit or an opposite force for each one of the Fivefold. So I am not looking for the Seven Mountains here. I am looking for the five counterfeits that Satan has put in this world.

The rest of the seven mountains are there, but they fit under all of those categories.

So what are the five kings? They are Satan's answer to the apostle, prophet, teacher, pastor, and evangelist.

What is Satan's answer to the apostle? The highest leader of all - politicians and politics.

What is Satan's answer to the prophet? It is psychics and fortune tellers. Satan's answer to the teacher is the world's education system.

What is his answer to the pastor? The pastor is responsible for counseling and healing. Satan has brought the medical and psychiatric system into this world as an answer to the Pastoral Ministry.

And to the evangelist who brings the good news and spreads the truth, he has brought all the religions and the false cults.

Our job is to oppose these. We do it by raising up the Fivefold Ministry and sending them out into this world. They accomplish the task of turning the kingdoms of this world into the Kingdom of God, extending God's Kingdom on the earth, and preventing all the work that Satan is doing.

We are going to do it spiritually, with God's power and authority. We are not going to do it by getting into politics, or by getting into this World System and trying to replace worldly leaders in high places.

That is the world's way of doing it. But God has a better way of doing it, so I am just mentioning this in passing.

Don't get caught in the Seven Mountain Mandate. I don't believe it is Scriptural.

It sounds good, but unfortunately, those who get into it leave the supernatural out. They get into the natural and they try to use the power of the flesh to do the work of God.
